Dutch household photovoltaic installed capacity hits new high
According to the Dutch Association of Electricity and Gas Network Operators (Netbeheer Nederland) recently released statistics that the installed capacity of residential photovoltaic systems in the Netherlands in 2022 will be nearly 2GW.
This figure is according to the association’s four grid operators (Stedin, Liander, Enexis and Westland). Infra) provided provisional data. If confirmed, the installed capacity of PV systems installed in the Netherlands in 2022 could increase by 40% year-on-year.
According to Stedin, the company installed 107264 residential PV systems in its service area last year, with a total installed capacity of 484MW. As of the end of December last year, the company’s cumulative installed capacity of residential photovoltaic systems reached 1.69GW.
According to Liander, the company installed 153422 residential PV systems in its service area last year, with a total installed capacity of 699MW, an increase of 25% compared to 2021. Meanwhile, Westland Infra said it installed about 19,000 residential PV systems in its service area last year, with a total installed capacity of 79MW. Enexis said it installed it last year 192133 residential PV system, but did not provide data on its total installed capacity.
The Dutch Association of Electricity and Gas Network Operators said in a statement: “Net metering schemes are an important driver for household users to install residential PV systems. Since 2004, the program has driven unprecedented growth in the number of residential PV systems installed. ”
According to official statistics released by Statistics Netherlands (CBS), the Netherlands installed 1,946MW of residential PV systems in the first half of 2022.
Peter, a photovoltaic analyst at a Dutch research institute Segaar said in an interview with industry media: “By the first half of 2022, a total of 1.92 million photovoltaic systems in the Netherlands were connected to the grid, most of which were residential photovoltaic systems. Provisional data provided by grid operators also indicates that one in five households in the Netherlands had already installed household PV systems by the end of 2021. ”
