BMS Temperature acquisition technology

Temperature detection within a lithium battery is performed to monitor the operating temperature of the battery to ensure that it is operating within safe limits. The following are some commonly used techniques for temperature detection within lithium batteries:

Thermistor: A thermistor is an element whose resistance value changes with temperature. In a lithium battery, one or more thermistors can be installed to derive temperature information by measuring the change in resistance value. This method is usually simple, low cost, and has high sensitivity.

This method is suitable for temperature detection scenarios that require remote or non-intrusive access.

Thermocouple: A thermocouple is a temperature sensor made up of two different metals welded together. In lithium batteries, thermocouples can be placed around or inside the battery to derive temperature information by measuring the thermal potential between the two metals. Thermocouples typically have high measurement accuracy and are resistant to high temperatures.

Temperature Sensing Chips: Some integrated circuits specifically designed for use in lithium battery management systems (BMS) may have temperature sensing capabilities integrated into them. These chips can directly measure the temperature inside the battery and transmit the data to an external device for processing and monitoring.

Fiber Optical Temperature Sensors: Fiber Optical Temperature Sensors use optical principles to measure temperature changes. In lithium batteries, fiber optical sensors can be used to achieve the monitoring of the internal temperature of the battery. This method has high measurement accuracy and anti-interference ability.

These technologies can be used to select the appropriate method for the detection and monitoring of the temperature inside the lithium battery according to the actual application requirements and system design. When designing a battery management system, factors such as the accuracy of temperature detection, response speed, and the impact on battery performance are usually considered comprehensively.
